10. 2012 to 2017: Chairman Senate Ad hoc Committee on Academic Audit and Rationalization of all Academic Units taught in the University. We added quality and value for money by removing redundancies, duplications, rebranding and saving the University millions of shillings that were going to waste per academic year.
11. 2005 to 2017: Member of high profile university functions and including Master of Ceremonies, Academic and Chancellors Processions. The skills acquired include protocol issues, public relations, management of crowds and team dynamics. My team has made the KU graduations perhaps the most colourful in the nation.

16. 2014: Chaired the committee that developed the Draft Policy on Examination Procedures and Guidelines for Kenyatta University.

18. 2014: Member of Committee that re-branded Open and Distance Education Learning (ODEL) to Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (DSVOL). I also train post-graduate students via this mode of learning.
19. 2013-2014: Member of University Team that was responsible for Operationalization of KU off-shore Campuses, in particular Arusha.
20. 2013: Member of committee appointed to prepare the Kenyatta University Charter in-line with the new Universities ACT 2012. I am familiar with the expected relationship between essential legal provisions in higher education administration and management (National Constitution, Universities Act, University Charter and Statutes)
21. 2011: Chairman of the Self-Evaluation Committee of the University during the Europe-Africa Quality Connect Project - Ref: EUA-AAU Quality Assurance Project). The project bench-marked KU to other European and Africa Universities towards mutual enhancement in quality assurance indicators. This exposed me further to Europe’s standards in higher education, including internationalization of higher education.
22. 2007-2015: Senior Lecturer in the Schools of Environmental Studies and also School of Agriculture and Enterprise Development
23. 2008-2012: Chairman, Department of Environmental Studies & Community Development for the statutory period of 4 years. My main achievement was development of systems that allows the department to run efficiently and meet ISO 9000:2008 requirements. Re-branded the Department from Environmental Social Cultural studies to the present name “Environmental Studies and Community Development”. Rationalised unit courses and made the programme most popular in the school.
24. 2009: Member of University Investigative Committee on Student disturbances. I gained a lot of insight on how to prevent and manage student unrest and protect the University and its components.
25. 2006-2007: Chairman of Board of Postgraduate Studies, School of Environmental Studies. I initiated the first ever Proposal Preparation and Thesis Format and Guidelines for the School of Pure and Applied Sciences. Such standardization are marks of quality.
26. 2002 to 2007: First employment as Lecturer in the School of Environmental Studies, Kenyatta University.
27. 2001: Consulted for World Neighbours East Africa in Natural Resources Management and Community Development in Dryland Ecosystems in Kenya. The hands-on experience I gained has informed my teaching, research and mentoring roles.
28. 1996-2000: As a doctorate student at University of Bonn, Germany, was involved in students’ examination processes. I am familiar with various student grading systems.
29. 1995-1996: Agricultural Instructor at Limuru Girls Centre (Certificate Course for needy Girls). (The centre is currently the Starehe Girls High School).
30. 1993-1994: Worked as a Research Associate under Prof Donald Thomas in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Nairobi and was co-author of the first student reader in the Department, entitled “Ecology, Environment and Sustainable Development: An Outline for Students of Land and Water Management in Kenya”

Kenyatta University Collaborator in the KCSAP CGS/CRGs - AD 2019/CSC/01: CLIMATE SMART CROPS (KES 22,002,887) Research title: An Integrated Agri-energy System for Sustainable Banana Farming for improved Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers in Kenya – (Tharaka Nithi, Taita Taveta, Nyeri). My role in project was to handle environmental aspects

2. 2018-2019: Machakos University Vice Chancellors Research Fund. KES 700,000.00 Management and Use of Sewage Effluent in Machakos Town and its Implications on Human Health. I was the external co-investigator and supervisor of one student from ENS Kenyatta University attached on this project
3. 2017-2018: As DAAD Alumnus, was member DIES-National Multiplication Training I & II 2017-2018.
4. 2016-2017: Recipient of Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor’s Grant (KES 800,000). Project supported 3 MSc students within the framework of agricultural land use changes, water Security and their implications on food production in Kiambu County, Kenya.
5. 2010 and 2013: Facilitated granting of 2 MSc students research funding from the Horn of Africa Regional Environmental Network’s Demand Driven Action Research.
6. 2009: Attracted over KES 2,000,000.00 for the School of Environmental Studies of Kenyatta University from the Horn of Africa Regional Environmental Network (HoA-REN), to which I represent Kenyatta University.
7. 2006-2009: Was principal Investigator, VicRes funded Research Theme: Effects of Sugarcane Production on Environmental Quality and Community Livelihoods in the Lake Victoria Basin (5 papers including a book were published there-from). US $: 148,136.00
